Mega Busy Day At The Homestead Part 2

This is part 2 of the video for the day. I worked on the chicken coop for a while but then it rained later on so I had to pack it all up.

I cleaned out the chicken coop and then put in some roosting bars for the chickens to sleep on. I put one across in front of the nesting boxes and then another across the window. This will allow the birds to get into the nesting boxes and to sleep off the ground at night.

It rained during the mid day so I had to pack up my tools for a while.

Later I loaded up the moss that I had removed from behind the wood shop and hauled it over to the second garden bed. I put it around the cabbage plants as a mulch to retain moisture and to keep the soil from getting to hot during the day. I read that this is the cause of cabbage type plants bolting.

We are setting up an outdoor kitchen so that we can cook outside during hot summer days. Melanie baked dinner in our outdoor oven already today.
