Awesome Solar Power ~ Package Arrived ~ Boiling Maple Syrup

With the snow on the ground and sunny sky we our off grid battery bank is going into absorption mode by lunch and float by afternoon. We are boiling maple syrup full blast right now.

We got hit with three snow storms within a week time so the ground is all white. This reflects the sun onto the solar panels very strongly. We have increased solar power production now.

Our solar battery bank is in absorption mode by lunch time each day. By 2 pm we are in float mode. This is very good for the batteries. I leave the laptop plugged in and running all day now with no problem.

A package arrived from Amperics containing the capacitors that I need to finish building the Quanta Magnetics Q3 Charge Accelerator. I am going to be experimenting with these capacitors in the coming weeks.

Amperics.com has supercapacitors rated at 3 volts and 400 Farad. This is an advantage over other supercapacitors which are rated at 2.5 to 2.7 volts and about 300 to 350 Farad.

When you string up supercapacitors in series to increase their voltage then the total Farad capacity is reduced to less than the lowest capacitor.

By raising the voltage and capacitance Amperics gives you more overall energy storage per capacitor bank compared to the competitors. With other supercapacitors you need 6 caps in series for a 12 volt battery bank. But with Amperics capacitors you only need 5 in series. This gives you more total capacitance in the end. Plus with their larger size in the first place you see even more gain in a capacitor bank.

Chris is here helping us boil maple sap. We are trying to keep up with the flow of sap coming from the maple trees that I tapped but we are losing. The sap is flowing faster than we can boil it down.

I am finishing the process in the off grid tiny house on wheels. I put the finishing pan on the wood stove and let the syrup boil slowly off until it is the right strength.

We worked long after dark on this day.
