Awesome Solar Power & Built A Magnet Separating Tool

We had some awesome solar power production today. I built a magnet separator. I am still restoring dead lead acid batteries. And more. Read the full article here: http://www.thedoityourselfworld.com/articles/article.php?id=11409

I am still working in the greenhouse restoring badly sulfated lead acid batteries. My old Bedini motor is working steadily away at breaking up the sulfation on the battery plates. This brings them back into service again.

This particular battery was so dead that the volt meter showed nothing at all when you pressed the button. Now it is reading 12.86 volts. I figure another day and it will be ready to go back into service.

We were getting about 50 amps of solar power at one point today. The power inverter was complaining of an over voltage condition. This is the highest power output I have ever seen at one time at the off grid homestead.

Chris is out cutting fire wood and kindling for the homestead. We save and use everything. Even branches get cut into fire wood out here.

Our off grid freezer is doing well. I cycle it on and off as needed to keep the food inside frozen. When we have enough solar power I plug it in. Today I used it to bring down the battery bank voltage a little bit during the high power output of the solar panels.
