Spring Winter Weather & Mud At The Off Grid Homestead

It has been quite warm the past week and we had a wet season. This combination gave us an early melt and a muddy mess. Our car has been stuck in the mud for a few days.

We have a beautiful sunny day and the solar panels are pumping power into the off grid tiny house battery bank. This is very good to see. But sadly a few trees are still in the way of good charging so they will have to come down.

We have had weather in the 40s to 60s the last week with nights above freezing. This gave us an early mid January thaw which caused a mess in the meadow. The path I normally take in and out of the property turned to soup so our car got stuck in the mud.

Saturday some friends were over and we spent some time together during the day. Later they helped me get the car out of the mud. The ground was a little bit firmer due to a couple days with no rain so that helped a lot. Otherwise I would have had to wait for a deep freeze to drive the car out again.

Friday was the presidential inauguration so Melanie and I watched it online. I felt it was important for her to know how this works since she lives here now.

Later in the day I spent the rest of my time studying.
