End Of Garage Sale ~ Another Freeze & More To Come

Our garage sale is finished and was a success. We had another bad freeze which killed more of our garden plants.

We woke up to 28 degrees in the morning with a heavy frost on the ground. Even the chicken water had thick ice on it.

We lost a lot more of our garden plants with this deep freeze. They say the first risk of frost in this area is between Sept 11 to the 20th. But we already had 2 freezing nights in August which badly damaged our garden just before the harvest.

Now we only have one squash, some tomatoes and a zucchini plant left. The peas are nearing their end of life anyway. Our cabbage plants are alive but not yet growing very well.

Our garage sale went well enough. We sold enough stuff to reach half of our goal to get the wood stove installed for heat. We also greatly reduced the amount of extra stuff we had on hand. Now I will be able to clean out the garden and keep it maintained.
