First Winter Freeze & Test Burning M 45 Tent Stove

We had the first freeze this winter already. I am test burning the M-45 Military tent stove for possible use in the off grid battery and water shed.

It froze overnight and killed off all of our garden plants. This is a sad thing to see because we have been eating from our garden all along up until this day. It got so cold that the water on top of the fish tank froze solid.

I thought that our tomatoes had survived but they did not. Literally everything in the garden is dead now. I was hoping to finish the greenhouse before the first freeze and keep some of the garden vegetables.

It was a bright and sunny day so it was perfect for me to show you the reason for the location of the new greenhouse. The morning sun shines fully on the greenhouse. After a cold and freezing night this is badly needed to help warm it up inside. The greenhouse gets morning sunlight before anything else in the meadow.

I took out the military tent stove and set it up outside the water and battery shed to test burn it. I am happy that I did too because of all the oil and filth that burnt off.

I want to see how well and how hot this stove burns before installing it in the off grid tiny house battery shed.

If I can control the heat well enough this M45 military tent stove will be used to keep the battery and water shed from freezing in the cold winter months.

The stove is burning well for now.
