Chris Returns To The Off Grid Homestead

Chris is back to The Off Grid Homestead and I took a slower day after working so hard in the cold recently. I got the door latches on the greenhouse though.

The greenhouse made it through the night without freezing. We had below freezing temperatures outside but the plants in the greenhouse made it through just fine.

ThruNite sent another fine product to test out. They gave me the TN42C flashlight to test out here on the off grid homestead.

This is more of a pinpoint flashlight with a range of 1550 meters which is about 1,500 yards. The package came with the typical ThruNite accessories which show their quality. They always put in spare gaskets and seals for every one of their flashlights.

While this light has an output of 2,000 Lumens it can pierce the night powerfully and show things very far away. At 1,500 yards range this is quite a powerful light.

I will be doing a full review on this light in the coming days and weeks. Plus I will do a side by side comparison with the ThruNite TN40 spotlight that I already have on hand.

Chris came back to the off grid homestead and got right to work stacking logs and fire wood. He is clearing the brush out back where we were felling trees earlier in the summer. We plan to clear out that entire area to give us more usable space and to open up the sunlight to shine on our solar panels more during the day.

Welcome back Chris.

The sun was out on and off during the day and the greenhouse warmed up to 62 degrees while it was only in the 40s outside. This is very exciting to see. I have great hopes for the off grid winter greenhouse this year. I hope to grow winter vegetables to provide us with something fresh to eat all year.

Melanie and I went to town and I got door latches for my greenhouse doors. I put them on and they sure do work nicely. The screen door opens and closes very easily and the barn door has a latch now as well.
