Awesome Solar Power & Building Potting Bench

It was another beautiful day at The Off Grid Project. I am building a barn wood potting bench for my off grid winter greenhouse. It was warm and sunny so my tiny house solar battery bank was topping off nicely.

It rained the other day so my project was interrupted for a bit. I did not go out with the camera at all on that day. But the next day was sunny, warm and beautiful.

I went out to the off grid solar greenhouse to build a reclaimed barn wood potting table for Melanie and I to use. This is also going to be a dual purpose potting table and battery bank table.

The top shelf will be for tools. The middle work bench will be for potting plants. The lower bench will hold a solar battery bank for our aquaponics system and for solar lighting in the greenhouse.

The wood is wet from the intense rain the other day but that did not stop me. I had most of the pieces cut already and partly assembled. The rain half filled our greenhouse rain water collection tank and totally filled up the off grid tiny house rain water tanks.

We use rain water for everything out here at the off grid homestead.

I got the potting bench into the greenhouse and fully assembled but I ran out of 3 inch screws so I was using just a screw here and there to hold it all together. I am going to have to set up the framing nailer in order to finish this project.

Stay tuned for part two of this video where I finish assembly and set up solar panels and a solar power battery bank.
