Finishing Greenhouse Windows & Making Double Door

I finished installing and making any replacement windows in my new off grid winter greenhouse and then I started to make a double door.

I had to make windows for any frames that had broken glass. I got these windows from a friend in the spring for scrap metal price. The frames are all made of aluminum. The glass was a free bonus. Only four of the windows had broken glass.

I made the new windows using plastic and duct tape. I first closed off the one large window on the side which had no glass. It was just a huge window screen with a frame. This will be good for summer use in the greenhouse.

For winter though everything needs to be closed up tight.

I next made up the smaller windows out of plastic. This stopped the cold windy drafts that were blowing through the greenhouse. Already it started to feel warmer in there.

Next I started to build the double doors. One door is simply an old screen door which I will close off for winter use. This door goes on the right side of the door frame.

The other door is a bit smaller and will open up to allow me to take in larger items up to four feet wide. The screen door latch will close on the frame of the narrow door.

I mounted the screen door first onto the side of the greenhouse entrance so that I could take measurements to make the second door.

Next I stared to frame in the narrow door. Watch for part two of this video on the way.
