We are using pure solar power during the day when the sun is shining. We cook now with a GoSun solar oven most of the time as well to save on propane. Read the full article here: http://www.thedoityourselfworld.com/articles/article.php?id=11454

I have 1,000 watts of solar power going into our off grid electronics and wood shops. This powers all my rechargeable tools and equipment as well as any power tools when needed.

By the house I have 600 watts of solar panels so far connected to a small inverter. I use this power through an extension cord to power anything we need during the day. We have cut our electric bill to about 18 cents per day now. We hope to get the water pump off the grid too but with the electrical code and the 240 volt pump this will take some time.

We have been cooking our meals recently with a GoSun solar oven which we are reviewing. I just wanted to share with you for now yet another aspect of off grid living.

The solar cooker is providing us with hot cooked meals for free any time the sun is shining. It cooks even with some clouds.

The GoSun solar oven holds enough food for two people with no problem. Our recent meal today was salmon with rice and vegetables. I am surprised that even the rice turned out perfect.
