Israelis protest before first judiciary reform vote

Thousands took to the streets in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv on Monday (February 20) with the Israeli opposition vowing to "fight for the soul of the nation" as parliament prepared to hold a first reading of judicial changes promoted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's religious-nationalist government. Polls have found that most Israelis want the reforms slowed to allow for dialog with critics - or shelved altogether.
