Why the UK is struggling

The UK is struggling due to a combination of stagnation in public services, persistent poverty, rising inequality, and an economic downturn caused by the Brexit transition. The austerity policies pursued by successive governments have meant that public services such as the NHS are increasingly strained and unable to meet the basic needs of citizens. Meanwhile wages stagnate and poverty remains a major issue in many parts of the country. On top of this, the divisive Brexit transition has resulted in economic uncertainty for both individuals and businesses. Without drastic action from the government to tackle these structural problems, things will continue to deteriorate further.
