Law and Grace - Part 12

The lesson on February 19, 2023 was part 12 of the “Law and Grace” study. We are moving towards getting some answers in this lesson because Wayne opens up with reminding us of Titus 2:11-14 KJV then centered on John 1:17 KJV “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” Galatians 6:2 KJV speaks to the Law of Christ. The Law was given by Moses, not just part but all of it. It was given to Israel to make them a separate nation, holy to be the salt of the Earth. We learned that Jesus came to keep the law and fulfil it. Jesus even scolded the scribes and Pharisees for not keeping the weightier matters of the Law which were judgement, mercy and faith. Then Wayne emphasized Hebrews 9:15-18 KJV where when Jesus was crucified the new testament was now in force and the Priesthood changed after the order of Melchizedek. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the bridge that allows Israel to have a Messiah as well as us in this age to have a Messiah. 1 Timothy 6:14 KJV says “That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:” Christ = “Messiah”. We then looked at some searches of key phrased in the New Testament and where they appeared across the Acts books and prison epistles.

The scripture reading was from Matthew 15:10-20 KJV 10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. 12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. 15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. 16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? 17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.”
