EAST PALESTINE (2023)

On February 3, 2023, a freight train carrying hazardous chemicals, including vinyl chloride, derailed and exploded in the village of East Palestine, Ohio, United States. The derailed train was Norfolk Southern freight train 32N. An Estimated 1000 Tonnes of Vinyl Chloride where burnt off into the atmosphere in an attempt to contain the toxic hazard but in the days since a number of dead fish and animals have been found around the area.
