I end my evening with a Doo-wop by The Penguins. Doo-wop is a genre of music originating from the African-American blues of the 1940s, mainly from the cities of New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit etc. It has vocal group harmony that carries an engaging melodic line with a simple band and little instrumentation. The lyrics are simple, usually about love, sung by a lead vocal over background vocals, sometimes in the bridge, a melodramatically heartfelt recitative addressed to the loved one.
