Sermon of His Holiness Pope Jacobus I on the Dominica Quinquagesima...19 February 2023 AD...today's Gospel teaches 2 objective truths of the Catholic religion - one is the Passion and Resurrection of Christ Our Lord, the Divinely fulfilled objective of the Son of God becoming Man in order to redeem the human race from the tyrannical yoke of Satan, the other is the mercy of God upon those who are truly His and acknowledge their firm possession and sincere practice of the Divinely revealed Catholic Faith, which is nothing else but Catholic Tradition. And so the miraculous cure of the blind beggar by Christ Our Lord, the beggar's proper dispositions to it beforehand, in calling Christ the true Messiah, Lord, and then obtaining from God his cure, in humble subjection to the supernatural truth that God can do all things. By this humble submission and admission of the Divine power of Christ Our Lord the proof of His Divinity is manifested by Him in that same miraculous cure granted to the blind man...and so likewise the true Holy Mother Church insists on these virtues to be believed and professed, so that the eternal benefit of salvation will be granted by God to those true Catholic souls that will be found truly faithful to God and inside the bosom of His true Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation...
