Olaf Scholz reproached the allies for not supplying tanks to Ukraine, although for several months they have been calling on Berlin to do so - FT

The journalist asked Scholz at the Munich Security Conference whether he is now in a position where he has to convince other countries to provide the promised heavy armored vehicles, he replied: "This is a question that I have to ask others, especially those who so persistently urged [me] to act."

Scholz's reference to tanks highlighted Germany's growing dissatisfaction with the Allies' position on providing heavy weapons to Ukraine. The Chancellor has been under pressure for months to create and lead a consortium of countries capable of supplying Ukraine with German-made Leopard main battle tanks.

But in the weeks after Berlin finally agreed to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks, only a few other countries allocated at least something from their stocks of this tank.
