North Korea test-fires an intercontinental ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan west of Hokkaido.

The missile flew for about 66 minutes and landed in Japan's EEZ. The estimated flight distance is about 900 km and the maximum altitude is about 5,700 km.

The missile appears to have a range of 14,000 km and could reach the continental U.S., says Japan's Defence Minister Hamada.
