A genuine tripartite of independent compounds mainly comprised of an eclectic therefore interesting assortment of social outcasts, crippled people, disillusioned anarchists, hippy-ish Cannabis Sativa enthusiasts, broken souls, runaways, felons, all attempting to escape society, their pasts, something or the other.

It's a good guess that anybody who chooses to live in a desert has probably become irreparably cynical of the civilization into which they'd once accidentally emerged. Spit balling here.

So, a milieu of independent, moral, extremely particularized, and otherwise disenfranchised citizens of the U.S. collectively engage in the social construction of a more/less legitimate (whatever that means) society contemporaneous to, and in fatalistic defiance of, the increasingly fascistic and oppressive impositions of contemporaneous American governance, technology, law and society (though many here live on Social Security checks once a month).

They police themselves because there is no other law here. The local fire department will sometimes arrive, when there's nothing else to do, to douse the flames of someones burning truck camper. Think, Road Warrior meets Lord of the Flies.

You get the impression that these people will be killing, and possibly cannibalizing, each other whenever there is a water crises. And here, water is coin of the realm.

Met quite a few decent people here. See credits.
