Testing some .223 handloads made of 223 Rem and 5.56 brass, loaded with CFE 223 Powder (25 grains), and using 55 grain FMJ bullets. I was running these through a Springfield Saint Edge with a Vortex Spitfire Prism 3x Optic. I was also sighting in the optic as it is "new" this this rifle.

The .223 handloads were slightly under powered (moving to 26 grains of CFE 223 for the next batch), but all ran 100% through the Springfield Saint Edge. I suspect I could run 62 grain bullets at 26 grains as well, but we shall see....

The Springfield Saint Edge is stock w/a 16 inch barrel - exceptional rifle and an incredible out of the box trigger. The Vortex Optic is a perfect companion to the rifle and is setup for the .223 REM round w/55 grain bullets.
