Tom and Jerry is an iconic cartoon that has been on television and in theaters since the 1940s. It follows the misadventures of Tom, an
intrepid but not very smart house cat, and his archenemy Jerry, a quick and cunning mouse. These two characters have delighted
audiences of all ages since their first appearance in 1940 and continue to do so today.

Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, Tom and Jerry
captured iconic status in cartoons as the face of slapstick. The original version of Tom and Jerry was described as an innocent slice
of life comedy, full of clever gags, chases and wonderful gags. It was full of physical comedy, satirizing the madness of cartoon madness. The characters are beautiful, expressive and full of personality.

Tom is a large gray cat with bright crescent-shaped eyes. He is often seen in a blue jumpsuit and with a mischievous smile. He's not the sharpest tool in the box, but he's loyal and determined, trying to grab Jerry's tail at all costs. Tom is often assisted by his human owners, or even reinforcements in the form of other cats and/or dogs.

Jerry, but, is a small, brown mouse with a playful, almost tireless energy. He always outwits Tom and rarely loses a battle with him. He is a master of escape and a great tactician. Jerry usually manages to get the better of his much larger foe, though Tom uses all sorts of
traps, weapons, and reinforcements to try to catch him.

The duo is on a comedic rollercoaster of pranks, each trying to
outwit the other in hilarious, often destructive ways. In each episode, both Tom and Jerry learn valuable lessons in friendship,
albeit sometimes after some mishaps and destruction of property.

Tom and Jerry have gone through many eras and the characters have evolved along with them. While their personalities remain the
same, these characters have been adapted for new media and
introduce new elements to the classic cat and mouse story. As the decades pass, their predicaments become bizarre, yet
the humor and spirit of their friendship remains timeless.

The Tom and Jerry show has been entertaining audiences for over
eighty years and is a bold rendition of the timeless comedy. Its effect is as strong today as it was when it began. Tom and Jerry has become a beloved institution of fun and hilarity, and the stories are
sure to be enjoyed by generations to come.
