Dr. Lee Merritt began her medical career at age 4 carrying her fathers black bag on house-calls along the backroads of Iowa. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, in New York, and a lifetime member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed an Orthopedic Residency in the US Navy and served for 10 years as a Navy Medical Officer. During her 30 years in the practice of Orthopedics and Spinal Surgery, she was appointed as a consultant to the Navy Research Advisory Committee, and is past President of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons. She has been a speaker and author advocating for ethical patient centered medicine and warning about the inevitable disaster of government healthcare. She had planned on being retired by now.
