Ukraine war: How Poland is increasing defence capability on Ukraine's doorstep

The country is seeking to increase its military capability in line with NATO and US expectations, with Ukraine and Russia on their doorstep.
The Ukraine War is an ongoing conflict between the Ukrainian government and pro-Russian forces that began in 2014 following Russia’s invasion of the Crimean peninsula. Since then, the conflict has claimed over 13,000 lives and displaced around 1.2 million Ukrainians. But what does Poland have to do with it? Well, Poland has been actively involved in diplomatic and financial efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution to the crisis and has provided humanitarian aid for those affected by the war. Additionally, Polish volunteers have gone to Ukraine on a number of occasions to provide assistance on the ground. It's clear that Poland is a key player in helping resolve this tragic conflict.
