#36 Norfolk Southern has employed the for-profit company CTEH for toxicology monitoring
#36 Norfolk Southern has employed the for-profit company CTEH for toxicology monitoring following train derailments and chemical spills on at least four separate occasions:
•South Carolina 2005
•Kentucky 2012
•Georgia 2019
•Ohio 2023
"In 2010, Congresswoman Lois Capps asked BP not to employ CTEH to handle cleanups in the Gulf because of past incidents of tainted results. CTEH has a history of being hired by companies accused of harming public health and releasing findings defending the corporate interest that employ them."
East Palestine residents deserve access to an unbiased testing company that is not funded by Norfolk Southern, and that does not have a track record of prioritizing corporate interests over public health.
