Prior to assuming the role of Prime Minister, she was the Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2021 to 2022, and held various other positions in the UK government, including Secretary of State for International Trade, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, and Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
