Jurisdiction: The Law

Jurisdiction is the best word to describe how we function in the Kingdom of God. This is what I am seeing prophetically
for 2023: “Justice will bring forth Liberty, the Supreme Law of the Land will stand and Jurisdiction will be established,
making the crooked places straight.” This is now happening in the world around us.
Jurisdiction: To declare the law and administer justice. What we say, do and worship is what we give our authority to,
establishing jurisdiction. Jurisdiction does not determine our salvation; it determines the level of victory in our life.
The Bible is called “The Book of The Law” 20 times in Scripture. 5 of those times are in the book of Joshua. After 40
years wondering in the wilderness, Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land. God’s Word made it perfectly clear to
Joshua and all of Israel, if they are brave and obedient to God, they will prosper in the Promised Land. If not, they will
lose their posterity and freedom. God gave jurisdiction to Israel, but they had to fight to keep it.
Just before Moses went to die on Mount Jebo, he warned Israel to keep God’s commandments.
Deut 27:1-4 Now Moses, with the elders of Israel, commanded the people, saying: "Keep all the commandments which I
command you today. 2 And it shall be, on the day when you cross over the Jordan to the land which the Lord your God is
giving you, that you shall set up for yourselves large stones, and whitewash them with lime. 3 You shall write on them all
the words of this law, when you have crossed over, that you may enter the land which the Lord your God is giving you, 'a
land flowing with milk and honey,' just as the Lord God of your fathers promised you. Dedicating the land to God’s
authority.
God spoke to Joshua just before he crossed over the Jordan into the Promised Land.
Josh 1:7-9 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My
servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe
to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good
success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord
your God is with you wherever you go."
America is also called “The Promise Land” and many times referred to as “The land flowing with milk and honey.” Like
Israel, America had to fight to be free from the bondage of King George of England, thus the Declaration of
Independence leading to the Revolutionary War. Our Founding Fathers declared God’s authority 4 times in the
Declaration of Independence knowing without God, it would be impossible to defeat the greatest military in the world.
11 years later, the US Constitution was written. The document declaring our God-given rights. Just like Israel, America
would have to stay loyal to God’s authority and fight to keep their freedom. In 1787 the Constitutional Convention was
held in secrecy behind closed doors. Anxious, concerned citizens gathered outside Independence Hall. Once the
committee emerged, A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia, asked Benjamin Franklin “Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic
or a monarchy?” With no hesitation Franklin responded, “A Republic, if you can keep it.” (ourrepbuliconline.com)
God warned the children of Israel that once they entered the land flowing with milk and honey, they would become fat
and serve other gods. These other gods are selfishness, complacency, sexual immorality, deception, materialism, money
and power, thus breaking covenant with God. Complacency will bring defeat.
Deut 31:20-21 When I have brought them to the land flowing with milk and honey, of which I swore to their fathers, and
they have eaten and filled themselves and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods and serve them; and they will
provoke Me and break My covenant. 21 Then it shall be, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this
song will testify against them as a witness; (see the Song of Moses Deut 32:1-43). This is a song of God’s judgment
against Israel, but ends with a promise: Deut 32:43 "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of
His servants, And render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people."

America has grown fat, and the majority of people who consider themselves to be Christian have turned to other gods
and broken covenant with God. BUT, God always has His faithful remnant, His warriors…you!
Jesus came to fulfill the law which brings conviction leading to justice, which leads to justification or condemnation.
Matt 5:17-18 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till
all is fulfilled.” Prophecy increases the closer we get to the Second Coming and the 7 th Trumpet.
Rev 10:7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be
finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
Law: Strong’s #3551 Greek, nomos (nom-os) the idea of prescriptive usage (the enforcement of a rule or method),
regulation, of Moses and the Gospel.
The Bible is complete, but it is not completely fulfilled. We are in the process of fulfilling the Law and the words of the
Prophets. The “Law” is how God operates. Flowing with His Law, we are blessed and victorious, an overcomer. Jesus also
referred to the Law as His commandments. God’s throne is established on righteousness and justice! His throne
represents His authority. Jurisdiction: to declare the law and administer justice!
Ps 89:14-15 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. 15
Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance.
Joyful sound: Strong’s # 8643 teruah, the great shout! The first battle in the Promised Land was against Jericho and it
was the teruah, the great shout that brought the walls down as Israel walked in obedience to the Lord!
It Is the Law! In the New Testament, the word “law” is mentioned 212 times, 78 times in the book of Romans alone.
The law of Christ Gal 6:2
The law of the Lord Lk 2:23
The law of God Rm 7:22, 8:7
The law of the Spirit Rm 8:2
The law of liberty Jm 1:25 and 2:12
The law of righteousness Rm 9:3
The law of faith Rm 3:27
The law of Moses Lk 2:22
The law of sin and death Rm 8:2
The Royal law Jm 2:8
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Being “under law” is
trying to earn your salvation through your own strength by obeying the law. But to be “under grace” is to be justified by
the blood of Christ walking in His resurrection power through the Holy Spirit. But being under grace does not give us a
license to sin. Grace is the power to overcome sin, not to live with it!
Rom 6:15-19 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know
that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to
death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you
obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you
became slaves of righteousness.
Foot Notes SFLB Rom 6:14 “Some erroneously interpret this verse to mean that it does not matter if Christians disobey
God’s moral commands, because they are no longer “under law.” Such an interpretation (antinomianism) is contrary to
Paul’s whole discussion of sin and to Jesus’ own words about the law (Matt 5:17-20).” Antinomian means anti-law.
John 15:9-10 "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you
will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
Commandment: #1785 entolay (en-tol-ay) an authoritative warning or order, enforcement of a rule, injunction.
