The MLA-30 Shortwave Loop antenna. Part1 Building It! Will This Compact SW Antenna Work As Well As ?

After reading a bunch about this Antenna, I decided to give it a try. It's a compact loop antenna with a built in pre-amp. By amplifying the signals right at the antenna it should preform pretty well, but I wonder if it will stack up to my 100 foot long wire antenna.
