Ask A Master Tech Series. What Types Of Mechanics Are There? What Skill Levels? Where Will I Start?

As part of my "Ask A Master Tech" series, I decided to tackle the question of "Where will I start out". My wife works in retail and often comments on the hilarity of fresh out of college types that roll in and apply for a management position with no experience.
That is just not how it works.. No matter how good you think you are, you have to prove it, and to prove it, You'll have to start at the bottom like everyone else. In this episode I'll talk about the real way techs move up the ladder and what each rung will bring as far as pay and what jobs you will be required to preform at those levels.
For guys and gals that have no idea what goes on in a shop, this is quite an eye opener, but the skill levels in an average shop vary greatly from tech to tech and that is 100% OK!
