The heroic Dino Master of Dino Star, "Baryon," is vanquished by the villainous "Darkno."
He sends the venerable guardian Dino Tuner and his three most dependable DinoCores, Tyranno, Saber, and Stego, to Earth before he passes away. Many years after Baryon is vanquished, Rex, a carefree youngster, finds the Tuner and takes over as the new Dino Master.

Rex, a boy from an ordinary old pizzeria, becomes a Dino Master and teams up with Tyranno, Saber, and Stego to stop Darkno from trying to conquer the universe, and preserving peace for Dino Island.

Darkno, in the meantime, conquers planet after planet before making his way to Earth.
