At 19, Payton Gendron, a white supremacist, was sentenced to life in prison. Thus ended the trial of the Buffalo killer in the state of New York, who on May 14, 2022 killed ten African Americans in a supermarket and wounded three others. The massacre had been planned for weeks. During the trial, before the reading of the sentence, the relatives of the victims addressed Gendron directly. The woman speaking in this footage is Katherine Massey, sister of one of the victims. "My sister Katherine was a beautiful person. She never hurt anyone. You came in and decided you didn't like black people. You don't know anything about black people. We are human beings. We like our kids to go to good schools We love our boys." At this point a man, presumably a relative of a victim, tried to lash out at the killer in the courtroom. Police quickly removed Payton Gendron from the courtroom.
