Asteroid Apophis 2029 Flyby
5
The asteroid Apophis will pass by Earth at a distance of about 32,000 km (20,000 mi). This is a very close flyby, and many had initially speculated that there is a high chance of the asteroid hitting Earth. The asteroid will be at its closest on the Friday of April 13th, 2029. There is probably nothing to worry about though, and new studies have suggested the asteroid has no chance of hitting Earth anytime soon.
