Planetary Aurorae
Aurorae (known on Earth as the polar lights) are present on most planets in the universe. They're caused by interactions that a planet's magnetic field and atmosphere have with charged particles in space. These particles are part of the solar wind and originate from the Sun. The magnetic field redirects some of them into the upper atmosphere, ionizing small amounts of gas and emitting light.
