The Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bat first. Their openers, Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan, got off to a solid start and put on a partnership of 68 runs before Masood was dismissed for 27. Rizwan continued to anchor the innings and played a captain's knock of 76 runs off 49 balls. He was well-supported by Sohaib Maqsood, who scored a quickfire 61 off just 41 deliveries. As a result, the Multan Sultans set a formidable target of 177 runs for the Lahore Qalandars.

In response, the Lahore Qalandars got off to a shaky start and lost wickets at regular intervals. However, their middle-order batsmen, particularly Tim David, gave them hope with a brilliant knock of 64 off just 36 balls. He was well-supported by James Faulkner, who scored a valuable 22 runs off 14 balls. However, the Lahore Qalandars fell short of the target by 80 runs and were all out for 96 runs.

For the Multan Sultans, Shahnawaz Dhani was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for just 17 runs. Sohail Tanvir, Imran Tahir, and Imran Khan also bowled brilliantly and picked up two wickets each.
