Was the BTR-60 more dangerous to the soldiers riding in it?

In the late 1950s, fresh from the disaster that was the BTR-152, the Soviets were looking for a new Armored troop carrier. What they created was one of the worst troop carriers ever made, but also would start the trend that military minds would improve upon to this very day!
