The research also found that 83% of 8-16-year-olds surveyed think clips from classic sitcoms are still funny today, and 76% said they enjoy watching comedies like Only Fools And Horses and Fawlty with their parents or grandparents Towers.

Following the results, Gold recreated three of the nation's favorite child-starring scenes to "reflect the timeless nature of these iconic sitcoms".

The clips were filmed at various locations in London and Hertfordshire and were created by UKTV Creative with children aged between nine and 13.

The first recreation sees nine-year-old Thomas Aitch play Del Boy with co-star Dan Young in the lead role of Trigger to re-enact the top-rated fall through the bar scene.
