2-/15/2023 Worm Wednesday Feeding first check in on the Vermihut
This Vermihut was started with 350 red wigglers. The bedding is a block of coconut coir that was in with the system, shredded paper and cardboard, coffee grounds (to help with bacteria), some finished castings, and grit from azomite and ground eggshells. This was a quick and small feeding, the worst thing I could do would be to over feed the bin in the beginning stage. For the feeding today after a light fluffing of the bin was two pieces of cantaloupe. I added a small sprinkle of ground eggshells for grit right over top of the feeding. After I covered the feeding area I sprinkled on some worm chow and added water to the Vermihut and I will continue to monitor the moisture of the worm bin.
