China has released computer-generated images of its proposed sixth-generation fighter jet that features a tail-less design and blended-wing body, according to a video released by the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China.

The design is believed to enhance the fighter's stealth capabilities and give it longer range and fuel efficiency. While detailed plans for China's new fighter jets remain secret, Chinese military aviation analyst Fu Qianshao has stated that work has started on the next-generation fighter and designers are confident it will eventually outpace the US.

The US is also working on a sixth-generation fighter as part of its Next Generation Air Dominance programme.
