In a news conference on Parliament Hill, a delegation organized by Courage for Freedom outlines the organization’s goals ahead of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on February 22. Speaking with reporters are Kelly Tallon Franklin (founder of Courage for Freedom and a survivor of human trafficking), Arnold Viersen (Conservative MP for Peace River – Westlock and co-founder of the all party parliamentary group to end modern slavery), Mishuda Sayed (interim leader of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women), Margaret Byl (president of the Federated Women’s Institute of Canada), Marianne Wilkinson (resolutions chair of the National Council of Women of Canada), and Gareth Williams (vice-president of the Probation Officers Association of Ontario).
