Phill Menendez, lifelong resident and protector of the city of St. Louis details his experience as a police officer in the south side of St. Louis, being electrocuted during a drug bust, and his plans to help the struggling city during his run for Alderman of the second ward of the city of STL.

Why is this an important episode to watch? I recall a great image of a leader asking their citizens, "Who wants change?" Every one of the citizens raises their hands. The leader follows up by asking, "Who wants to change?" Not a hand goes up.

How can I have the gall to sit here and complain about the situations affecting our nation, our state, our city, or my own ward and not even vote! This episode goes beyond just the city of St. Louis, it goes to every state, every city, and every neighborhood. If you have become cynical around politics as a whole, I encourage you to start seeking to make an impact with your vote where it counts the most, as locally as you can get.

If you want to see a change, I hope this episode helps you start that journey.
