My outdoor orchids have taken a beating! Persistent cold temperatures combined with very strong wind on the patio, have done a number on my outdoor orchids. While, the winter sun can create pockets of warmth on the patio, which I then use to my advantage for orchids that have to stay outside, because they are too large to be accommodated indoors, when the day temperatures do not rise, and there is no sunshine at all, there is nothing to help ease the cold exposure.
