• Revelation 3:7 Philadelphia was founded by the citizens of Pergamum. The community was built in a frontier area as a gateway to the central plateau of Asia Minor. Philadelphia's residents kept barbarians out of the region and brought in Greek culture and language. The city was destroyed by an earthquake in A.D. 17, and aftershocks kept the people so worried that most of them lived outside the city limits. The "key of David" represents Christ's authority to open the door into his future Kingdom. After the door is opened, no one can close it—salvation is assured. Once it is closed, no one can open it—judgment is certain.

• Revelation 3:8-11 The Church of Philadelphia is one of the churches that Jesus Christ had nothing against. They had little strength, but remained faithful. The church had the backing of Jesus in fighting the wicked. "I will protect you from the great time of testing" means there will be a future time of great tribulation from which true believers will be spared. We cannot interpret from this verse when or for how long Christians will experience the "great time of testing." Today, millions of Christians are suffering and dying at the hands of godless tyrants throughout the world. To them, the time of testing has already begun. Whenever Christians suffer, Christ promises protection of their eternal souls. Christians have differing gifts, abilities, experience, and maturity. God doesn't expect us all to be and act the same, but he does expect us to "hold on" to what we have, to persevere in using our resources for him. The Philadelphians are commended for their effort to obey and encouraged to hold tightly to whatever strength they have. You may be a new believer and feel that your faith and spiritual strength are little. Use what you have to live for Christ, and God will commend you.

• Revelation 3:12-13 Jesus motivates all Believers to overcome in this present world. What does it take to overcome? 1) Resisting the devil. 2) Persistence in good works. 3) Refusing all overtures of the devil to live in sin. 4) Consistency in Prayer and Word study, which builds faith and according to 1Jn 5:4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. The new Jerusalem is the future dwelling of the people of God. We will have a new citizenship in God's future Kingdom. Everything will be new, pure, and secure.

Personal Supplication
Father, in the name of Jesus, help me to remain faithful and committed to the course of the kingdom starting here on earth and continuing into heaven.

I decree in the name of Jesus, from this moment forward, I see myself the way God sees me. I am highly favoured of the Lord. I am crowned with glory and honour. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am reigning as a king in life through the one man Jesus Christ the messiah. Now in Jesus name, I declare by faith that I walk in divine favour, I have preferential treatment, supernatural increase. I have restoration, I have prominence, I have petitions granted, laws changed, policies and rules changed, and battles won, which I do not have to fight all because of favour. The blessing and favour of God is on my life. In Jesus name, every morning, when I arise, I would speak and expect divine favour to go before me and surround me as with a shield, with goodwill and pleasures forevermore.

Doors are now open for me that men said are impossible to open. No obstacles can stop me, no hindrances can delay me. In Jesus name, I am honoured by my Father, as I receive genuine favour that comes directly from God. I am special to Him, I am the object of His affection, I am the apple of His eyes, I am blessed and highly favoured of the Lord. Everyone and everything shall work to favour me. Angels Goodness and Mercy shall accompany me in all my ways. It is written with long life will God satisfy me and show me his salvation. Therefore, I declare that I shall not die but live to declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I declare over me and my household today the
