In a virtual news conference, representatives from the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) make an announcement on their court challenge against the federal government for its use of the Emergencies Act. The update comes on the one-year anniversary of the invocation of the act to quell convoy protests across the country – a move the CCLA claims was unconstitutional. Taking part in the news conference are Cara Zwibel (director of fundamental freedoms) and Laura Berger (staff lawyer). The Public Order Emergency Commission is expected to release its report on February 20, 2023. (February 14, 2023)
