In this video, I talk about why I hate Black History Month despite loving Black History. Broken Traditions is a weekly podcast that tackles difficult topics and I thought it would be a good episode to talk about Black History Month.

Black History Month is a month dedicated to celebrating Black history and culture. While I love all aspects of Black history, I don't particularly enjoy Black History Month. My reasoning is three-fold. First, it's a month-long celebration, which means there's a lot of pressure to participate and celebrate in a way that conforms to the mainstream. Second, the focus on black history at the expense of other cultures and races is problematic. Third, Black History Month is often used as a tool to promote
