Trimming your cat's claws can be done by following these simple steps:

Get a pair of cat nail trimmers from your local pet store.

Find a comfortable and quiet place to sit with your cat. You may want to have someone help you hold your cat if they are uncooperative.

Gently hold your cat's paw and press on the pad to expose the claw.

Use the trimmers to carefully snip off the tip of the claw, being careful not to cut too close to the pink area called the "quick" which is sensitive and contains blood vessels.

Repeat the process for each claw, being sure to cut only the tips and avoid the quick.
