The Roman Communism Prophecy Reversal

In the late 1940s and 1950s, religious end-of-day “prophecies” dominated the Latter Rain movement and the different ministries affiliated, which would eventually shatter into the New Apostolic Reformation. Because of propaganda being spread through the movement, many of the “prophets” claimed that the Roman Catholic Church was invading the religious systems of North America and it would eventually lead to the End of Days. William Branham, leader of the PostWWII healing revivals, claimed to have prophesied this very thing in either 1932 or 1933.

By the 1960s, however, and the Catholic Church was seen as more of a doctrinal threat than a threat of impending doom, many of those same leaders switched their end-of-days scenarios to the bigger threat: communism. Leaders in Latter Rain began proclaiming that Communism was the on to fear, and through Communism, the end was nigh. It was during this stage of Latter Rain that William Branham reversed his 1933 claim of prophecy. Instead of saying that Communism would destroyed by Catholicism, Branham began claiming to have instead prophesied that Catholicism would be destroyed by Communism and bring the End of Days.

Interestingly, during the years without global conflict, some of the leaders in the NAR began claiming that it was the American Democratic Party that would bring Armageddon. And now that Communism is flexing their military might, it is again Communism that we should fear. The common theme, as always, is fear.
