Identify TREES in WINTER: Bark, Buds, Branch & Fruits

86

We've started to inventory the trees in our forest since we're working on a forestry plan, but trees are not always easy to identify in the winter. I'll take you out to some patches of our forest to observe the bark, buds, fruits and nuts to become more proficient at identifying trees when they aren't in leaf or flower. You'll see as I take you through the forest—how many species of trees are endangered with disease and insect infestation, which is part of the reason why we're working on a 200-year forestry plan.
