The Rio Grande King is another wet fly that is in Ray Bergman's book - Trout (page 443, plate #7) as well as being requested by a follower of the channel. A wonderful fly to tie with a long history. The version tied in the video is the one from Ray Bergman's book but there are many other versions that people have tied and fished over the years. Almost all have the black chenille body and the white wing but some have a rib and others a different throat or tail. Although this was created for trout fishing I have no doubt the panfish here in the Midwest would love the Rio Grande King. - - Enjoy
