Blue Mountain Project Step 1 - Mark a Regeneration Harvest

10

This is a property conversion project where we are converting a farm that only feeds deer in the summer and open woods that deer wont use for daytime bedding. Step one is to mark the timber so it gets cut correctly. We will leave two types of timber - white oaks for mast and sugar maple for seeds and future timber value. What will be removed is Yellow Poplar sawtimber and beech/birch/maple low value trees. We will cut with a feller-buncher so we can get the stand down to a basal are that will regenerate a new forest and not damage any of the leave trees.
