At The End Of The Days

Daniel The Prophet - In chapter 10, after Daniel had mourned for three weeks, he was again visited by a man clothed in linen. The meeting was so powerful for Daniel that he lost all of his strength. He saw nothing good in himself, only his own wretchedness. But, a hand raised him up and said, heed these words I will speak to you, dearly beloved man. I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people at the end of days, for this is again, a vision of those days.
Gabriel had explained what was going to happen at the beginning, the first 490 years of the long time period in chapter eight. Now he gets to know the rest. It is a detailed description of the story from the time of Daniel, and all the way down to Jesus' second coming. Three kings of Persia are yet to come. It is easy to find out who followed Cyrus. However, not everything that this chapter talks about is easy to understand, but it is possible to find out.
It is important to turn to God and ask for help!
In verses three and four we hear about the mighty king who “does as he pleases”. This is Alexander the Great. When you do as you please and others accept it, that means you have the power.
Next we encounter a power that "does as he pleases," in other words takes dominion, is in verse sixteen. Now we should expect a picture of a new world power, and that is the Romans. Eventually, a tax collector appears in verse twenty. We all remember Caesar Augustus, who sent out a decree that the whole world should be registered. He was Rome's man. It was done to collect taxes. But, it had another effect as well. It brought Jesus' parents to Bethlehem, to the city of David. So that Jesus could be born there, as the Bible had foretold.
The prophecy provides many clues that are worth studying. The war between God and Satan is going on, through the king from the north and the south. Why not sit down and study your Bible. Do not forget that there is a God in heaven who can help you understand. But, you must be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, open to change your mind. Be willing to spend time and energy. You must humbly turn to heaven and ask God for help to understand. You have to examine the Word.
Chapter 12 begins with the end. And at that time Michael shall stand up. This is Jesus.
The time is approaching for our redemption. Like Daniel, we are longing to go home. Not to Jerusalem in the state of Israel, but to the heavenly Jerusalem, the heavenly Canaan.
The long time prophecy, two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings began with three time periods. Seven weeks, sixty-two weeks, and one week. It also ends with three periods. Twelve hundred and sixty days, twelve hundred and ninety days, and thirteen hundred and thirty-five days. The whole period plus three at the start and three at the end. There are a total of seven time periods, seven times God has set. Many today are not aware of these prophesies. And some are trying to change and erase them.
As for the longest prophecy in Daniel 8-9, many scholars accept that the 1335 days/years prophecy in Daniel 12 also leads us close to 1844. From the baptism of Clovis in 508 to the end of 1843. According to Daniel, a special blessing would be upon those who reached this year. And what happened in 1843? The amazing movement of William Miller brought forth such a religious enthusiasm and blessing never seen before for the hope of the soon return of Jesus, the year before the great disappointment in 1844.
When Jesus talked with his disciples about the end times and the sign of his coming, He mentions the destructive abomination that the prophet Daniel has spoken about. Jesus encourages us to read and understand. We should take that seriously, for there is a God in heaven, and He has revealed to us what is going to happen in the last days.
