Cataloging Your Dream Signs

This lucid dreaming technique comes from Stephen Laberges book “Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming” and can be found in more detail there.

The first step in cataloging your Dream signs is keeping a dream journal. Record all of your dreams throughout the night and when you have at least a dozen recorded you will be ready to begin cataloguing your dreams.

Go through your dreams both new and old and mark all Dream signs that appear in your reports. You can do this by underlining them or by some other method. After this you should make a list of each dream sign that appeared in a report after that report.

There are several categories of dream signs

Inner awareness

Action

Form

Or context

Count how many times each one of these categories occurs and rank them by frequency

At this point you should have a clearer view of what dream signs are most common for you. Begin examining your daily life being extra aware of your particular category
